VERNON MANUFACTURING RECOMMENDS THAT A QUALIFIED TECHNICIAN PERFORM THIS WORK. ALL MACHINES SHOULD BE INSTALLED USING A DEDICATED CIRCUIT AND SURGE PROTECTION IN ACCORDANCE WITH ALL FEDERAL, STATE, AND LOCAL BUILDING CODES. CHANGES IN WIRING OR OBVIOUS SHORTING WILL VOID WARRANTY.
If this unit is installed in a Streetside Box, please follow those instructions.
Since each installation is different, mounting hardware is not furnished and the following are general instructions only. Your application will dictate the parameters and hardware needed. We recommend using ½” carriage bolts, washers and nuts for mounting the Flush-mount System to your wall. Please follow local codes for any electrical or plumbing installations. An awning, or similar cover over the unit, will help keep out moisture.
An 18” wide by 18" high opening is required. The 24” x 24” aluminum plate has four ½” mounting holes on 22½” centers. Measure and drill the mounting holes in your wall and mount the assembly. If your unit accepts credit cards, be sure to allow enough room for the stub mount antenna.
Install the valve in your water line either horizontal or vertical. Flow direction is marked. Protect it from freezing. A gate valve (not furnished) mounted ahead of the water valve aids in cleaning and repair. Install the piping, valves, drains, back flow preventers and other devices in accordance with local codes.
PLEASE NOTE: Valve port #4 must be open to air—DO NOT PLUG THIS HOLE.
At the valve, tie the black wires, and red wires, from each solenoid together in parallel. Bring only one wire per color through the ½” connector to the terminal strip. Crimp the forked wire ends on and connect them to the #6 and #7 positions on the terminal strip. Refer to the wiring sticker.
Card Reader: Download this program to manage your card accounts. If you have problems, call and I will email it to you.
Paperwork is included to set up your account and give customer receipts. Enter your information and return it to InOne as explained.
Key Switch Override: If so equipped, city personnel can obtain water without having to use money. Simply insert the key and turn. It is labeled “CITY USE ONLY”.
Automatic Drain: If so equipped, tie both solenoids in parallel as described above. Be sure the green ground wire from the solenoid is tied under a bolt on the valve.
Choice Switch: If so equipped, bring the black wires from the different valves in to the designated positions on the terminal strip. At the valves, tie all red (neutral) wires together and bring only one wire to the #7 position on the terminal strip. If each valve has an Automatic Drain, follow the instructions above. NOTE: Some machines are equipped with two timers for different size valves. All wires and positions are tagged.
Except for the wires to the valve(s), no other wiring is necessary. Refer to the wiring sticker.
To set the timer to deliver the amount of water you want to sell, follow the HRV Timer Settings sheet.
