VERNON MANUFACTURING RECOMMENDS THAT A QUALIFIED TECHNICIAN PERFORM THIS WORK.

PLEASE FOLLOW ALL FEDERAL, STATE, AND LOCAL CODES REGARDING ELECTRICAL AND PLUMBING INSTALLATION. USE A DEDICATED CIRCUIT AND SURGE PROTECTION.

Since each installation is different, mounting hardware is not furnished and the following are general instructions only.  Your application will dictate the parameters and hardware needed.  We recommend using anchors for cement; bolts, washers and nuts for metal or wood walls.  Please follow local codes for any electrical or plumbing installations.  An awning, or similar cover over the unit, will help keep out moisture.

Use the control box as a guide for the next two steps:

Depending on the age of your unit, mark and drill 3 or 4 holes and mount the control box to an inside wall.  Leveling is essential.

Drill holes through the wall for the coin tubes, reject wire and outside indicator box.  The holes for the coin tubes should be drilled at a 20-degree angle (up for the coin insert tube and down for the coin return tube).  The hole for the insert tube should start approximately ½” up from the top of the box in line with the inlet slot in the top of the box.  The hole for the return tube can be marked using the exit slot inside the box.  Make sure there is no binding of the tubes or reject wire.  The ½” pipe on the outside indicator box pushes through the wall from the outside with the junction box on the inside.  The locknut on the end of the pipe holds the assembly in position.

Connect the yellow, white, blue and purple wires from the control box to the outside indicator box color to color.  The black and red wires from the valve connect to the corresponding wires from the control box.

Install the valve in your water line either horizontal or vertical.  It is marked for direction of flow.  Protect it from freezing.  A gate valve (not furnished) mounted ahead of the water valve aids in cleaning and repair.

PLEASE NOTE:  On Aquamatic Valves, port #4 must be open to air—DO NOT PLUG THIS HOLE.

Automatic Drain:  If so equipped, tie both solenoids in parallel and tie only one wire per color to the corresponding wires as explained above.  Be sure the green ground wire is tied under a bolt on the valve.

Key Switch Override:  If so equipped, city personnel can use this without having to use money.  Simply insert the key and turn.  The switch is labeled “NORM - O/R”.

CONNECT ALL WIRES COLOR TO COLOR

To set the timer to deliver the amount of water you want to sell, follow the instructions on the Timer Settings sheet.
